In the mid-1970s, the athletic career of Jill Angel really took
off at Orange Coast College. Competing on the womenns softball and
basketball teams, Angel used every inch of her 5-foot-3 frame and
became one of the top OCC athletes of her time. Playing both years

received the Most Inspirational Player award in both sports. In
softball, Jill batted third and finished with a career batting

and floor general, a trait she would take with her after Coast. Her
gritty determination carried over into her professional life as a
California Highway Patrol officer. Starting in 1983, Jill worked up
the ranks and in 2001, she was named Assistant Chief, overseeing
over 1,000 officers. Jill was named the Toughest Female Cop Alivee
