EVANS RETURNS TO LEAD #19 CSM VOLLEYBALL SWEEP OF #22 WEST VALLEY
SAN MATEO -- Fallon Evans returned to the College of San Mateo women's volleyball lineup to lead the state No. 19 ranked Lady Bulldogs to a straight sets victory over No. 22 West Valley College Friday night.
Host CSM won, 25-19, 25-14, 26-24, with Evans, back after an injury, serving seven consecutive points in the third set. San Mateo was down, 17-23 at the time. Grace Willming had 11 kills, Honoria Aguilar had 15 digs, and Bri Tellier added 31 assists.
San Mateo is 17-6, 4-2 in the tough Coast North, after the first full round of league play. Only No. 4 Cabrillo and No. 7 Hartnell are ahead of the Bulldogs, in first and second, respectfully. Four teams in the same division are state ranked!
CSM begins the second half of league play on Wednesday (Oct. 24), hosting Monterey Peninsula at 6:30 p.m.
