The CCCFCA has released its annual All-America and regional All-State teams, recognizing the top players from its 66 member colleges, which make-up the majority of the 119 2-year college football programs in the USA. The smaller National JC Athletic Association, with 53 teams, also selects all-star teams.
--Schmidt led Golden West to its best season, 12-1. The 5-11, 185-pound freshman from Stillwater, Minn. High School, caught 51 passes for 1,183 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, earning top offensive player honors in the National Central League and on the Region III All-State team.
--Booth, a 6-3, 235-pound lineman out of Merced High, had a state-leading 23 sacks this season as the Pirates repeated as Valley League champions. He was named the defensive player of the year for the Valley League and for the Region II All-State team.
--Tulloch has now led San Mateo to three state football championships in the last four years, with a 12-1 record in 2025. He is 57-7 over five seasons in the current decade and 77-11 in seven years at the Bulldogs helm.
CSM defeated Modesto for its fourth straight Northern California Football Conference title this month and then beat Golden West in the 3C2A championship game.
(The JC Athletic Bureau, directed by Fred Baer, originated the all-state selection program for the CCCFCA and has been involved in the recognition for a half-century.)
