College of San Mateo and Mt. San Antonio are preseason picks in coaches football poll
SAN MATEO – Defending 3C2A state champion College of San Mateo is the choice of the California Community College Football Coaches in the annual preseason poll, conducted by the JC Athletic Bureau. The Bulldogs, 12-1 in 2024, received 13 of 16 first-place votes from CCCFCA representatives, totaling 383 points. Mt. San Antonio College, also 12-1 last year, had 376 points, ahead of Riverside (10-2), with 360, and Modesto JC (9-3 with 337.
San Mateo gave Mt. SAC its only 2024 defeat, 43-11 , hosting the 3C2A title game, which had 30,000 live stream views. CSM has been in the finals three straight years, winning in 2022 and 2024. The Bulldogs ended up sending a school record 47 players to 4-year colleges, so are rebuilding again in 2025. San Mateo was also the mythical National JC/CC champion in 2024, according to the Massey Computer ratings (and other polls). Massey also has CSM leading its 2025 ratings.
