Cristian Antezana, who had missed two field goals earlier, connected on a 41-yarder with 6 seconds to play as Community College of San Francisco avenged its only loss of the season Saturday, beating visiting American River College 17-14 to earn a berth in the state championship game.
The Rams (11-1) will play for their seventh state crown Dec. 13, visiting three-time state champion Mt. San Antonio (10-2), which won the Southern California title 35-14 over host Riverside (10-2) Saturday.
Jerry Peralta, replacing the injured Anthony Rodriguez at quarterback, completed 25 of 38 passes for 268 yards and both CCSF TDs. The Rams' Jahray Hayes, the state's leading scorer, was held to 49 yards on 18 carries.
The Rams lost 13-0 to American River (10-2) on Sept. 27 — the only shutout loss in George Rush's 38 years as CCSF's coach
