CCSF Football Plays for Northern California Crown
By all accounts, the CCSF Rams (11-1, State Rank No. 3) have been enjoying a dominant year atop a conference brimming with talent.
Two weekends ago, the season ended with a bang: slaying bitter rival College of San Mateo in a hard-fought win (23-7) for the Conference Championship. Last weekend, City College of San Francisco laid siege to an overwhelmed Chabot College defense, overrunning the visitors in a 47-20 victory at home.
This Saturday, it all comes to a head as CCSF (11-1, State Rank No. 2) takes on American River College (11-1, State Rank No. 3) at home at 1pm on November 29th.
For the Rams, there's more on the line than the Title of Northern California Champion. Only been beaten once this year, CCSF suffered their singular but stinging defeat on September 27th to American River College away, losing 13-0--the Rams' first shutout in years. This upcoming game, they'll look to excise the lone demon of a spotless season and put all doubts behind them.
With a talented squad headed by Legendary Coach George rush, CCSF is in top form. Quarterback Anthony Rodriguez has pivoted expertly as the switchboard between a two-pronged offense, throwing for an outstanding 2382 yards this season, while running backs Jahray Hayes and Elijah Dale (ranked 1st and 10th statewide in touchdowns) continue to torment opposing defenses with incisive drives.
Steeled with a defense lead by Free Safety Shalom Luani that ranks 1st in the State with fewest Points per Game surrendered (15.2), the Rams are locked and loaded for the biggest game of the year.
