NO. 1 CSM SCORES ANOTHER WIN BY 45 POINTS, 52-7 OVER DELTA
It was the second straight week the Bulldogs won by a 45-point margin, having defeated defending state champion Butte, 51-6, in Oroville on September 20. Burgess, who stepped in against Butte for injured starter Jeremy Cannon, had another outstanding performance, completing 15 of 21 passes for 181 yards and no interceptions, while also running for 29 yards.
D.J. Peluso led the ground game with 117 yards on nine carries, including a 21-yard TD. Lee had five receptions for 98 yards.
"We came out and played a good game today," said CSM coach Bret Pollack. "They were playing press and we were able to get rid of the ball quickly. They couldn't move the ball consistently on our defense."
Delta, which fell to 0-4, was held to 132 yards by the Bulldogs – and had only 40 yards after three quarters when San Mateo held a 45-0 advantage.
