5CTCA announces first Runners of the Week for 2025 season
SOCAL RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
Luciano Roberts (So.)
San Diego Mesa
Luciano made his debut as the leader of this year’s Olympian squad at the Clovis Crush Invitational, finishing as the top community college runner in 20:49.7. This was an improvement of 1:16 over his time last year and 29 seconds faster than he ran at the 2024 3C2A State Championship. His outstanding individual performance helped the Olympians' second-place team finish for community colleges.
Jadeyn Skefich (Fr.)
El Camino College
Jadeyn Skefich won her second consecutive community college race for El Camino at the Oxnard College Invitational. Skefich ran a swift 18:07 for the 5k course and was victorious by 1:12 over second place. Skefich has solidified herself as a potential threat for the individual state title.
NORCAL RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
Stephan Chapdelaine (So.)
Butte College
Chapdelaine made his sophomore year debut in fine fashion with a fifth-place overall at the Clovis Crush Invitational. The Roadrunner covered the four-mile course in a personal best 21:00, 37 seconds faster than he ran at the rain and mud-soaked 2024 3C2A State Championship. Chapdelaine was last fall’s NorCal runner-up.
Erick Dorn (So.)
College of San Mateo
Dorn will have something to say about the individual title after finishing as the top community college athlete at the Clovis Crush Invitational. Her time of 18:46 was 52 seconds faster than her time last fall in the same meet. Dorn was 15th at last fall’s state championship but appears to have made a big improvement in the time since.
