Clovis men, Sequoias women capture 2025 CVC cross country championships
FRESNO – The Clovis Community College men and the College of the Sequoias women are 2025 Central Valley Conference cross country champions after impressive performances on Oct. 29 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
Led by a first-place finish by Davis Bosch, the Clovis men totaled a winning team score of 20 points to earn the program's third straight CVC championship under head coach CJ Albertson. Clovis' five scoring runners all finished among the competition's top-7.
Bosch won the men's race, clocking in at 21:12.04 on the four-mile Woodward Park course. Max Jauregui was third at 21:24.79, followed by Ivan Barranco (4th, 21:39.33), Alvino Diaz-Lopez (5th, 21:48.31), and Dylan Devine (7th, 21:54.06).
Sequoias was second with a final team score of 41 points. COS was led by Julian Valdivia in second place with his time of 21:12.78. Teammate Ryan Herrera was sixth overall, clocking in at 21:49.51.
Madera's Bryan Mosqueda cracked the men's top-10, finishing in eighth place with a time of 21:55.55 to lead a group of four runners. Porterville sent three to the conference championship meet and was led by Alexis Ibarra Estrella in 32nd place at 26:53.92.

On the women's side, College of the Sequoias got a first-place showing from Arianna Ramirez-Romero to help lead the Giants to its first CVC championship since 2017.
COS, led by first-year head coach Arianna Perry, edged out Clovis for the women's team championship by a final score of 25-30 in a tight battle. The Clovis Crush had won the last six straight women's CVC titles.
All five of Sequoias' scoring runners finished among the top-10. Ramirez-Romero captured the women's title with her winning time of 19:23.61 on the 5K Woodward Park course. Teammate Gia Ortega was up next for the Giants, finishing fifth at 20:08.96.
Ana Landeros took eighth (20:59.31) and Lizzet Ramirez was 10th (21:05.55) to round COS' scoring five.
Runner-up Clovis was led by a second-place finish from Sam Martinez (19:52.28). Other top showings for the Crush included Nieves Alavarez in fourth (20:03.25) and Liliana Cuevas (20:48.46) in seventh.
Fresno City had three runners competing and got a third-place individual finish from Itzel Gonzalez with her time of 19:54.18. Porterville was led by Lizbeth Ramirez in 17th place (22:26.25) and Madera's Isabel Rodriguez finished 26th (26:10.81).

Wednesday's Central Valley Championships were the first of three straight championship meets at the venue. Woodward Park is set to host the Northern California Regional Championships on November 7 and the 3C2A State Championships on Nov. 22.
