Feather River College made history again in 2025 as it finished with the No. 1 ranking for the second straight year on the final CCCWVCA State Top 25.
The Golden Eagles became the first North Region team to win back-to-back 3C2A state championships and set a state record for most victories in a season with 37 (broke its own mark of 36 set in 2022).
San Diego Mesa, the class of the South again, take runner-up honors at state, finish rated #2 and set a school record for win with 31. The Olympians have made it as far as the final four in each of the last three years, including its state title in 2023.
Cinderalla story Long Beach City is #3 after winning four postseason matches, including upsets over previously undefeated Orange Coast in the regionals and a 4-set win over final #5 San Joaquin Delta (third in the final regular season rankings) in the state quarterfinals. The Vikings raced up 14 spots and proved any team can have a chance at a state crown despite an 0-6 start and 2-8 record after 10 matches.
The rest of the top 10 include #4 Santa Monica with its top finish in school history tied for third at state, then Delta, #6 Taft, #7 Fresno City, and #8 LA Mission (those four tied for fifth at the Elite Eight). Then rounding out the top 10 were Orange Coast at #9 and Mt. San Antonio in the #10 slot.
Palomar flew up 10 spots to a final #12 on the heels of a huge victory in Round 2 of the regionals v. #13 Moorpark while Golden West, unranked, elevated all the way to #15 after upsetting #11 Santa Barbara City.
Fifteen South teams were on this final ranking including four each from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference including Mesa, Palomar, #14 San Diego Miramar and #20 MiraCosta and the Western State North Division in LA Mission, Santa Barbara, Moorpark and #18 Ventura.
