Fresno City, Cerritos to square off in state dual wrestling championship on Sunday
NORWALK, Calif. - For the third season in a row, Fresno City College and Cerritos College will face each other in the CCCAA Team Dual Meet State Championship. The finals, to be held in Fresno on Sunday will be a match-up of the top two ranked teams in the state. Last year, the Rams defeated the Falcons, 28-11 in Norwalk, while Cerritos posted a 23-16 win in 2016 in the Central Valley.
Over the course of the season, Fresno City has won four tournament titles, with Cerritos coming in second place in two of those, and finished fourth in another.
Breaking down the teams, the Rams currently have five wrestlers ranked #1 in the state, while the Falcons boast one that's at the top of a weight classification. Without knowing either team's lineup for the night, this is a possible breakdown of what could happen when the teams face each other.
