Women's Basketball advanced in the opening round of the Pre-New Year's Kick-Off Classic at Cuesta with a decisive win over Porterville, 67-44. Guard Courtney Barba and Center Dakota Shinn combined for 44 ponts to equal the visiting Pirates' team-total. Barba cored a game-high 23 points and added three assists and game leading six steals. Shinn netted 21 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebound and dished out four assists, which were both game-highs. TheCougars (6-4) face West Hills-Lemoore tomorrow on "Semi-Final Friday" at 7:30 PM.
