Habkirk, Vizcarra shine in week five
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sarah Habkirk of Folsom Lake and Sam Vizcarra from Fullerton earn California Community College Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Player and Pitcher of the Week as the two power their squads to undefeated weeks.
Habkirk was impressive at the plate and in the circle as the No. 15 Falcons went 3-0 in their last week of play. She hit .714 with a home run and stole a pair of bases on offense. Then in the circle, Habkirk pitched ten innings, earning a win in game two over Diablo Valley. In that game, Habkirk pitched a complete game while notching three hits – one a homer – driving in a run and scoring two.
Habkirk and the Falcons are 13-4 through the first 17. She’s hitting .684 and has a 3.21 ERA in 52.1 innings pitched.
Vizcarra came out on the victorious end of the best pitchers dual of the 2026 season thus far. The sophomore pitched ten shutout innings to help the Hornets earn a doubleheader sweep over No. 5 El Camino. Vizcarra allowed just two hits and one walk, at one point retiring 16-straight Warriors. She didn’t allow a runner to get past second base.
