San Mateo remains unstoppable in week eight
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – No. 1 San Mateo remains undefeated and leads the way in week eight of the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Coaches’ Poll.
The Bulldogs earned ranked wins over now No. 3 West Valley and No. 5 Hartnell last week. Previous 3CFCA Pitcher of the Week Lola Sierra tossed a combined 12 innings allowing two runs across the two games.
No. 2 Palomar leaps West Valley and heads a loaded southern group. The Comets, now 20-1 on the season, are fresh off victories over previously ranked Southwestern (12-0), No. 12 Cerritos (4-3) and No. 19 San Diego Mesa (13-5).
No. 7 Fullerton earned a three-game sweep of No. 10 Cypress to jump the Chargers in the standings. The Hornets, who dropped two of three to Orange Coast a week ago, got back on track with a 4-1 week.
No. 14 Saddleback soars back into the top 20 after leaping into first place of the Orange Empire Conference standings. The Bobcats are 6-1 over their last seven.
