San Mateo stays steady in week three
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – San Mateo remains the top team in week three, holding strong in the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Coaches’ Poll after opening the season 10-0.
The No. 1 Bulldogs’ reign of terror across the state continues after winning the state championship in May. They’ve outscored opponents 78-18 in their victories.
No. 2 Palomar, No. 3 West Valley remain in the top-three while No. 4 El Camino jumps back into the top five. The Warriors’ Raquel Alonso boasts the South Coast’s best ERA at 0.55 in five appearances.
Rounding out the rankings, No. 18 Canyons makes its first appearance in the top 20. The Cougars are 8-2 to start the season. No. 20 Citrus is back in the rankings after being voted out a week ago. No. 10 San Joaquin Delta makes the biggest leap. While only 3-2, their lone losses are to San Mateo and No. 8 College of the Sequoias.
