Krueger, Ogle stand out as season enters full swing
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Faith Krueger and Kaylena Ogle were named the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Player and Pitcher of the Week on Monday, February 2.
Krueger, the Player of the Week, helped Fullerton mash its way to a 3-0 weekend. The first year hit .600 on the week, hitting three doubles, scoring five runs and driving in a pair. Krueger caught all 21 innings on the weekend as the Hornets defeated No. 16 Fresno City and Bakersfield.
The first year Ogle of Cosumnes River continues to dominate in the circle in her second week with the Hawks. She won her two starts, allowing just five hits across 14 innings pitched. She’s now 4-0 on the season with a .88 ERA in 24 innings.
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Ogle’s teammate Xochitl Atayde is on a tear to start the season, 15-27. She recorded five hits in 11 at bats last week. Atayde is also 3-1 in the circle as CRC is 7-1 to start the season.
Mikayla Sanchez of Hartnell struck out 15 against No. 12 Yuba, en route to a Panthers’ victory.
