The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #11 Northern and Southern California Players. San Diego City College swept the SoCal Awards as Tiana Houston was named the Player of the Week and teammate Katie Dowdy was named the Pitcher of the Week. In Northern California, Napa Valley College's Olivia Henderson was named the Player of the Week and Sierra College's Kalyn Paque was named the Pitcher of the Week.
Northern California Player of the Week – Olivia Henderson – Napa Valley College
Henderson played in eight games during Week #11, as the Storm went 6-2. Henderson went 14 for 30 (.467) with 17 RBI's, eight runs scored, and nine stolen bases. Henderson hit a trio of doubles, and a grand slam. Henderson is a 6'2 freshman infielder out of Napa, CA where she attended Napa High School.
Northern California Pitcher of the Week – Kalyn Paque – Sierra College
Paque had an outstanding Week #11, going 4-0 in the circle. Paque fanned 27 batters, and improved to 15-1 on the year. Paque is a 5'9 freshman righty out of Reno, NV.
Southern California Player of the Week – Tiana Houston – San Diego City College
Houston had a big week at the plate for the Knights, going 12 for 15. Houston pelted a pair of doubles, four home runs, and racked up 15 RBI's. In a double-header against Barstow Houston hit four home runs and went 8 for 9, with a total of 11 RBI's on the day. Houston is a freshman righty out of Chula Vista HS in Chula Vista, CA.
Southern California Pitcher of the Week – Katie Dowdy – San Diego City College
In three games, Dowdy was 3-0, allowing just four total runs. In addition, she hit .615 on the week with three doubles, a home run, and 11 runs scored. Dowdy is a freshman righty for the Knight's out of Horizon HS in San Diego, CA.
