Week #3 Players and Pitchers of the Week Announced
The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #3 Northern California Player of the Week and the Southern California Players and Pitchers of the Week. San Jose City College's Treasure Rodriguez was named the NorCal Player of the Week, while Allan Hancock's Katelyn Chenault repeated as the SoCal Pitcher of the Week, and San Diego City College's Brianna Leigh-Pink was named the SoCal Player of the Week. There were no nominees for NorCal Pitcher of the Week
Northern California Player of the Week – Treasure Rodriguez – San Jose City College
Sophomore catcher Treasure Rodriguez played in three games for the Jaguars during Week #3 and went 9 for 10 at the plate, with 9 RBI's, and a pair of home runs. She also caught all three games for San Jose City, and no one tried to steal on her in that time. Rodriguez comes from Sunnyvale, CA and attended Fremont High School.
Southern California Player of the Week – Brianna Leigh-Pink – San Diego City College
Freshman infielder Brianna Leigh-Pink was 9 for 12 in total at the plate during Week #3, including a perfect 7 for 7 weekend at the Mt. San Jacinto College Tournament. She stroked a pair of doubles, drove in five runs, and scored five more on her own, on her way to being named All-Tournament. Leigh-Pink hails from Trenton, New Jersey, but attended Clairemont High School in San Diego.
Southern California Pitcher of the Week – Katelyn Chenault – Allan Hancock College
Freshman pitcher Katelyn Chenault continued to assault opposing hitters, going 4-0 on the week. In 27 innings of work, Chenault struck out 39 batters, while scattering 17 hits and just three total earned runs during her week of work. Chenault is from Santa Maria, CA where she attended Righetti High School.
