Saddleback's Barajas drafted by the San Francisco Giants
MISSION VIEJO - The Saddleback baseball program was back in the news on Monday with the announcement that Rodrigo Barajas had been drafted at the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft in Atlanta. Barajas was an 11th-round selection of the San Francisco Giants.
Barajas batted .289 this past season, finishing with six home runs and 30 RBI. He played in 87 games in two seasons with the Bobcats as Saddleback went 58-35 overall, winning a state title in 2024.
Barajas is the first player drafted for Saddleback since catcher Jordan Dissin was drafted in the 12th round by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022. He is the third catcher from the Saddleback program to get drafted in the past eight years, joining Dissin and Brett Auerbach (Colorado Rockies, 2018).
Barajas was selected by the Giants with the 326th pick on Monday.
