Mt. SAC Repeats as National Champion of Community College Athletics
Walnut, Calif. – Mt. San Antonio College Athletics once again cemented its place among the elite in collegiate athletics, earning both national and regional honors at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention in Las Vegas this week.
For the second consecutive year, Mt. SAC was awarded the prestigious Learfield Directors' Cup, recognizing the Mounties as the top community college athletics program in the nation among more than 750 two-year institutions. The award marks the third Learfield Directors' Cup in program history and further solidifies Mt. SAC's standing as one of the most successful athletic programs in the country.
The Mounties also captured the 2025-2026 Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics, awarded annually by the National Alliance of Two-Year Collegiate Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) to the top community college athletics program in California, Oregon and Washington. The title marks Mt. SAC's 15th Ron Case Cup overall and an unprecedented 13th consecutive championship.
"These awards are a reflection of the commitment, dedication and excellence demonstrated every day by our student-athletes, coaches and staff," said Mt. SAC Director of Athletics Joe Jennum. "To be recognized as the top community college athletics program in the nation for the second year in a row while also continuing our dominance in the western region is an incredible achievement. We are proud of what our teams accomplished this year and grateful for everyone who contributes to the success of Mt. SAC Athletics."
Since the Ron Case Cup was established during the 2003-2004 academic year, Mt. SAC has claimed 15 of the 22 titles awarded, a testament to the program's sustained excellence across multiple sports.
The Mounties accumulated 186 points this season, the third-highest total in program history and just seven points shy of last year's record-setting mark of 193.
Mt. SAC's championship season was highlighted by state titles in men's wrestling, men's track & field, men's swim & dive, women's cross country and women's track & field. Additional top finishes included runner-up performances in women's wrestling and men's cross country, a third-place finish in women's swim & dive and a top-five finish in women's golf.
In the final Ron Case Cup standings, Community Colleges of Spokane finished second with 159.5 points, followed by Sierra College with 157 points.
Nationally, Mt. SAC topped the Learfield Directors' Cup standings with 186 points. Iowa Western Community College placed second with 179 points, while College of DuPage and Barton Community College tied for third with 167.5 points.
The awards serve as the latest chapter in Mt. SAC Athletics' tradition of excellence and underscore the program's continued success on the conference, state, regional and national stages.
