Bio
Jeanine Prindle began her community college athletic
career with her twin sister, Donna, at Cerritos College where they
played volleyballlthe only womenns sport offered at the college at
the time. She transferred to Long Beach State (CSULB) where she
joined the womenns volleyball and basketball teams. As a junior,
her team finished 2nd in the AIAW Volleyball National Championships
and in the following year, 1973, played on the universityys first
national championship team completing an undefeated season. She
earned her BA and MA in physical education from CSULB and a second
Masterrs degree in Counseling from Azusa Pacific
University.
Jeanine returned to Cerritos College as the volleyball and
basketball coach in 1976 and remained the Falconns volleyball coach
until 1999. In her 22 seasons she compiled a 335-106 record,
including a State Championship in 1992 where she was also named
Coach of the Year. She guided her teams to eight straight South
Coast Conference championships and led eight teams to the COA (now
CCCAA) State championships. In one three-year span, her teams
advanced to the COA State Championship match and went four straight
seasons undefeated in conference play. She coached 6 All-Americans,
14 All-State players, and more than 50 of her student athletes
received scholarships to four-year universities.
She was named the South Coast Conference (SCC) Coach of the
Year in 1988 and 1992 and was named the SCC Volleyball Coach of the
Year four times. Jeanine was inducted into Long Beach Statees 49er
Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996 and into the California Community
College Womenns Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001.
In addition, to Jeaninees accomplishments as a coach, she
has had a tremendously successful administrative career, most
recently as the PE Department Chair. Over her career, she has held
various positions including Interim Division Dean and Athletic
Director. After leaving coaching, her passion for teaching
continued in the areas of fitness and self defense. She was
recognized as an outstanding educator by the CCCPE in
2001.
