Bio
Robert Bobb Dinaberg began his head football coaching
career at Clovis High School in 1963. He coached at California
Western University from 1966 to 1968. Then, in 1968 he began his
31-year tenure as professor of physical education at Santa Barbara
City College. His tenure at Santa Barbara City College included 18
years as head football coach (with an overall record of 119-62-3)
and 22 years as the director of athletics.
Bob has a long history of service in National and
Californiaas community college education and athletics. He has
served as:

President of the California Community College Athletic
Directors Association
President of the National Association of Two-year College
Athletic Administrators and founding member representing
California

Table
And thatts just an overview. He also started a substance
abuse program in 21 California community colleges, directed
fundraising programs that completely supported four sports programs
at Santa Barbara City College, and served on the Program Review
Panel of seven different colleges. Bob has had several article
published in professional magazines, has lectured on athletic
administration and football to national and state groups, and has
taught a variety of lecture classes including College Health, World
History, English, History of Physical Education, an How to Succeed
in College for Athletes.
Refusing to slow down, Bob continues to maintain the Santa
Barbara City College web page for menns and womenns golf. He is the
radio colorr commentator for the High School Football Game of the
Week in Santa Barbara, and volunteers in the classrooms of his
grandchildren, kindergarten through second grade, where he has
conducted reading groups and has completed special assignments for
four different teachers at two schools.
Bob and his wife Joan (Unger) Dinaberg have been married for
51 years. They have two daughters, two sons-in-law, and three
grandchildren. All continue to live in Santa Barbara.
