Taft All-American Satele Part Of 3CWVCA State Players Of The Week #5
Taft College outside hitter Jazzahlei Satele, an All-American as a freshman last year, San Diego Mesa OH Danielle Muttera, and San Joaquin Delta libero Morgan Lung are the 3CWVCA State Players of the Week #5, selected by the coaches association committee.
A 5-foot-6 talent from Kalaheo High in Waimanalo, Hawaii, Satele totaled 64 kills and 56 digs in four matches last week, including a 5-set win for Taft over now #10 San Joaquin Delta and a 5-set defeat v. #5 San Mateo. In the Delta win, Satele drilled 23 kills and made 20 digs. She hit .314 for the week.
She's third in the state in overall kills with 232 in helping Taft to a #7 state ranking and a 14-2 overall record. Satele was a member of the 2025 3C2A All-State Tournament Team.
Muttera, a 5-10 freshman from University High in San Diego, slammed 30 overall kills in a pair of #6-ranked Mesa's PCAC sweeps over Palomar and Imperial Valley. She buried 18 kills with six digs and two aces v. the Comets, then hit .647 (12 kills in just 17 swings) v. the Desert Warriors.
Lung, a 5-5 sophomore from Modesto's Central Catholic High whose hometown is Merced, is the state's leader in total digs (293) and third in average at 5.53 per set. The defensive wizard totaled 59 digs in three matches, including 23 v. Taft. Earlier this year, Lung twice hit the 30-dig mark. She is the second selection this year for Delta.
