Mt. San Antonio College (12-1) remains the #1 team garnering 13 of a possible 15 first-place votes in the second California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCWBCA) State Top 25.
At #2, Folsom Lake is one of the three undefeated teams left in the state at 11-0 as it took the other two first-place coaches votes, flying eight spots up in the rankings.
Orange Coast at #3, Cypress at #7 (a 7-position ride up the ratings), and Irvine Valley at #8 (a whopping 17-spot jump) gave the Orange Empire Conference three top 10 teams as the OEC has a collective 49-13 record among the top five teams in that league that also includes #T21 Saddleback and #23 Santa Ana.
Two of the early big stories are #9 MiraCosta, under former Grossmont HC Wes Perryman, still undefeated at 12-0 and #19 Copper Mountain, a team directed by second-year HC Kris Groce, that has opened the season without a defeat at 13-0.
Laney hasn't missed a beat with a new HC in Bryan Gardere as it stands at #4 followed by some of the regulars in the rankings the last several years in #5 San Joaquin Delta and #6 Moorpark. San Francisco settles in to complete the top 10 at #10.
