De Anza Starts Coast Conference play 2-0 after home win vs CCSF
The De Anza Mountain Lions started their Coast Conference home opener strong, sweeping the first rounds of singles and doubles play vs CCSF. Substituting liberally in the second round, every Lion had a chance to score today in a 21-0 win.

Substituting liberally in the second round, every Lion had a chance to score today in a 21-0 win. #1 Vanessa Dinh led the way with singles wins -- 21-6, 21-8 v #2 Thiri Htu and 21-8, 21-7 v CCSF #1 Nicole Pan. Playing with doubles partner Tiffany Lee, Dinh scored a 21-13, 21-8 win over CCSF #1 Nicole Pan and Thiri Hton. Following the road-opener win at Mission Tuesday (17-4), the 5-0 Lions are one of two undefeated teams in the California along with Fresno City Rams at 2-0. The two powers will square off in Cupertino on April 5th and again at Fresno on April 21st.
With Winter Quarter final examinations taking place at De Anza next week, the badminton program will have a week's hiatus before reuniting for the program's annual SoCal Spring Break road trip. The Mountain Lions depth will be tested by three matches in three days against current SoCal leader Irvine Valley (March 28th), defending SCC Champion Pasadena City College (March 29th) and the El Camino Warriors (March 30th). The El Camino meeting will be the first-ever between these two schools.
