Week #7 Players of the Week Announced
The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #7 (March 13th – March 19th) State Pitcher and Player of the Week. Bakersfield College's Alyssa Gonzales is the Player of the Week, while El Camino College's Natalie Francis has taken home Pitcher of the Week honors.
Player of the Week – Alyssa Gonzales – Bakersfield College
Bakersfield freshman infielder had a great week at the plate going 10 for 16 with 5 RBIs. Gonzales belted three doubles and drew a pair of walks. Gonzales prepped at Ridgeview High School in Bakersfield, CA.
Pitcher of the Week – Natalie Francis – El Camino College
El Camino freshman Natalie Francis went 2-0 on the week, earning a pair of complete-game shutouts against conference opponent, East LA, on Thursday before a 1-0 rout of No. 4 Palomar. Against the Huskies, Francis only allowed three hits, and against the Comets, Francis threw a two-hitter, snapping Palomar's 18-game win streak. On the week, Francis threw 18.1 innings with eight assists in the field.
