Golden Valley Sweeps NorCal Honors; Wesolowski, Moody Take SoCal Awards
October 19, 2026
NorCal Runners of the Week are from Golden Valley Conference rivals Butte College and College of the Redwoods. Autumn Bonds and Dylan Rodriguez put up impressive victories at the Shasta Invitational last Saturday.
Bonds win on the Shasta College cross country course was by an impressive 59 seconds over second place. The Roadrunner was also the only female to eclipse the 20-minute barrier on the 3-mile course. The freshman also has a runner-up finish at the Beat the Heat Meet in the first week of the season.
Rodriguez stole the top spot from host runner Noah Gaddy by less than two seconds in an exciting finish. Although Rodriguez has only raced three times this season it appears he is rounding into championship form when it counts.
SoCal Runners of the Week see Riverside City College with its second honoree in Alex Wesolowski and Bakersfield College's Sofia Moody gets the nod for the Renegades.
Moody took the overall victory at the Allan Hancock Invitational in 20:16. Moody was never pressed and added to her impressive sophomore resume. She was the Barstow Invitational winner and has two additional top seven finishes this fall.
The RCC sophomore showed his competition his massive one year improvement taking 61 seconds off his Manny Bautista Invitational performance. Wesolowski nearly stole the victory last Friday. Wesolowski was 21:03 at NTC Park before dropping to 20:02 less than three seconds from the victory. He trailed only two fellow ROTW recipients in winner Cooper Castleberry and teammate Ian Crocker.
