Undefeated Folsom Lake leads CCCSIA Women's Soccer Poll
SAN BERNARDINO - When you’ve reached this point in a soccer season without suffering a loss – or settling for a draw – it’s bound to get you noticed.
But looking at the results of the bi-weekly poll of the California Community College Sports Information Association, it doesn’t necessarily make you a consensus pick for the top spot.
Folsom Lake received eight of the 13 first-place votes in this week’s poll, taking the top spot with 254 points, supplanting Saddleback in the top spot.
The Bobcats weren’t far behind, however. They received five first-place votes, remaining 13 points behind Folsom Lake for the top spot.
However, the biggest change in this week’s poll came from one of Saddleback’s rivals in the Orange Empire Conference – Santiago Canyon. The Hawks also remain undefeated – with two draws – and jumped 14 spaces to No. 3 in the latest poll, receiving a first-place vote and 200 points, giving them a one-point advantage over No. 4 Long Beach City, and a four-point lead over No. 5 San Francisco.
From there, the poll drops. College of the Canyons holds down the No.6 spot with 169 points, two better than No. 7 Sierra. Cypress, the third of five teams from the OEC, Cypress, clocks in at No. 8 with 153 points. Canada holds the No. 9 spot with 140 points, with Consumes River holding down No. 10 with 133 points.
