Rankings tighten atop CCCSIA Women's Soccer Poll
SAN BERNARDINO - A six-minute stretch on a soccer field in Long Beach on Sept. 26 probably played a big role in the second California Community College Sports Information Association women’s soccer poll of the 2025 season.
In that stretch, Long Beach City took a 1-0 lead, then had Saddleback tie the game three minutes later. But the Vikings took the lead back for good just two-plus minutes later, handing the Bobcats their first loss of the season.
The Bobcats – who had a commanding hold on the bi-weekly poll – saw much of that lead slip away in the poll, which featured 13 voters this week. Saddleback remained in the top spot, receiving two first-place votes and 233 total points in the poll, just 10 points ahead of No. 2 College of the Canyons.
Fresh off their win over Saddleback, Long Beach City jumped a spot in the poll, 20 points behind the Bobcats at No. 3. Folsom Lake, which received the most first-place votes with five, moved up four spots to No. 4 at 208 points. City College of San Francisco rounded out the top five with two first-place votes and 195 points.
After Sierra (187 points) and Cypress (181 points) at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, the poll drops off to a wild scramble amongst the voters. But one thing remains consistent – the Orange Empire Conference remains well represented, with Golden West at No. 8, Santiago Canyon at No. 17, and Orange Coast at No. 20.
Fresno City and Pasadena City rounded out the top 10, as 34 teams received at least one vote in the poll.
