Oxnard Softball is BACK!
After a two-year hiatus, Oxnard College Softball is back.
It has been too long since the Condors have laced up their softball cleats for a game in the Nest. On Tuesday afternoon, after much anticipation, the Condors hosted San Diego City College for a double-header.
Although the Condors did not win, the women played good softball, and even had the lead in game two, until the seventh inning.
Juliann Herrera pitched very well in the circle for all 14 innings. "Chona" also added some hits in game two to go along with two RBI's. Ariana Maldonado had a pair of hits in the DH, scored two runs, walked three times, and was great at short stop. Alexis Vallejo, Cynthia Vallejo, Marisa Perez, and Marissa Gastelum all added hits for the upstart Condors. Perez caught both games, behind the plate.
New Head Coach, Bianca Noriega, was happy with the effort by the team and is looking forward to the rest of the season at the helm (https://www.instagram.com/p/C3TwhSDRMQN/?hl=en).
It was a great day on the diamond and in the next for the return of softball. The next home action is March 5th from 2:00--a make-up against Glendale College.
Go Condors!
