Final State Players of the Week #13 all members of conference champions
Long Beach City College middle blocker Jubilee Allen, American River right side hitter Kyla Powell, and Orange Coast setter Jordan Packer all helped their teams to conference titles and are the CCCWVCA State Players of the Week #13.
Allen, a 6-foot sophomore from Anaheim's Western High, is the state leader in blocks per set with a 1.36 average. In Long Beach's sweep over Cerritos that allowed the Vikings to be co-South Coast Conference South Division champions, Allen scored 11 kills (hit .476) and made five blocks. She then delivered 13 kills in just 18 swings (hit .667) and had two solo stuffs v. Compton as LBCC finished the regular season at 21-1.
Powell, a 6-foot freshman from Las Vegas' Desert Oasis High and lives in Oakley, knocked down 18 kills in 31 attempts (.518) in two ARC victories, including 11 v. Modesto, in helping the Beavers share the Big 8 Conference title with Sierra.
Packer, a 5-6 sophomore from Marina High in Huntington Beach, had a typically outstanding performance in Orange Coast's Orange Empire Conference crown-clinching, 4-set win over Saddleback. She set 37 assists, dropped in four kills on dump plays, made six digs and had a solo block. Packer is eighth in the state in assists average at 9.21.
