American River, Moorpark talents pick up Week #9 CCCWVCA Players of Week honors
American River College libero Reese Ampi and Moorpark outside hitter Cashe Olswang are the CCCWVCA State Players of the Week #9.
Ampi, a 5-foot-7 freshman from University Prep High in Redding, is eighth in the state in total digs with 332, averaging 4.37 per set. She is second in the Big 8 in total aces with 40.
She had a 2.1 rating on 45 receive attempts and served better than 2.0 on 42 chances in two ARC victories last week. Ampi totaled 17 digs and three aces in a 4-set win over Modesto, then delivered a season-high 30 digs in a 5-set triumph over Solano.
Olswang, a 5-10 freshman talent from Westlake High and raised in Ventura, scored 16 kills, four blocks and served three aces in Moorpark's second victory in Western State Conference North Division play over state top 10-ranked Ventura.
She is 12th in the state in kills per set at 4.06 and she also averages 0.82 block kills and 2.2 digs per game.
