Brandl, Epperson Take Home 3CFCA Weekly Honors
LOS ANGELES — Sophomore center fielder Faith Epperson of Yuba College and first-year right-handed pitcher Macy Brandl of Fullerton College ran away with this week's California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors. It is the first weekly recognition for both players this season.
Epperson, praised by her coaches for being a great teammate, stole three wins for Yuba. With 10 hits in 14 at-bats, Epperson stole 11 bases and scored seven runs out of the leadoff spot. Her 36 stolen bases on the season are second among all California players. She added four RBIs to her incredible week.
Brandl has earned several nominations this season but terrorized opposing lineups this week. One of two Hornets' aces, Brandl made four appearances and earned four wins to keep Fullerton perfect in the Orange Empire Conference. The righty tossed three complete games, allowed just two earned runs, and struck out 38 in nearly 28 innings.
