Kneubuhler, Bustos Named 3CFCA Player, Pitcher of the Week
LOS ANGELES — First-year utility Morgan Kneubuhler of No. 7 Mt. San Antonio College and sophomore right-hander Bailee Bustos from No. 14 College of the Sequoias have been named the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) Player and Pitcher of the Week.
Kneubuhler, the rookie out of Chino Hills, slugged her way in clutch fashion to earn her weekly first 3CFCA Player of the Week. In a seventh inning tie against Long Beach, she hit a go-ahead two-run home run to lift the Mounties to one of three wins during the week. Kneubuhler finished with two homers and 10 runs batted in over the week, collecting seven hits in 10 at-bats.
Bustos, a sophomore from Tulare, leads the Central Valley Conference with 139 strikeouts in just over 100 innings this season. She tossed two complete game gems against Merced, one of which was a shutout, and struck out 18 along the way, dropping her earned run average to 1.28 on the year to pick up her first 3CFCA Pitcher of the Week honors.
