Togia, Blas Earn Player, Pitcher of the Week Honors
LOS ANGELES – First-year infielder Anaya Togia of Long Beach City College and sophomore right-hander Tatiana Blas from Cosumnes River have earned the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association Player(3CFCA) and Pitcher of the Week honors for the week.
Togia picked up 3CFCA Player of the Week honors after she thrashed opposing pitching en route to her first career weekly recognition. In 13 at-bats, the Huntington Beach native collected nine hits, two home runs, and four doubles, driving in 12 and scoring nine times. The first-year's offensive efforts led Long Beach to a 4-0 week.
Blas, a sophomore out of Galt, earned 3CFCA Pitcher of the Week honors after she led all nominees week with 18.1 innings pitched and carved up hitters for 24 strikeouts. Blas finished the week 2-1, eclipsed the 10-win total, and is a handful of strikeouts away from 100 this season.
