Matt Ustaszewski in Paris 2024 Olympics as coach with Team USA

CHULA VISTA – Southwestern College men's and women's swimming head coach Matt Ustaszewski is entering his second Olympic Games as an Assistant Coach/Video Coordinator with USA Men's National Water Polo Team for the Paris 2024 Olympics. "It is a great honor to represent Team USA at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The opportunity to work with such amazing athletes and incredible coaches is something I don't take for granted. We hope to captivate and inspire the next generation of water polo players in the United States, and specifically for me, those in the San Diego community. We appreciate all the support back home as we prepare to compete against the best the world has to offer."

Ustaszewski is no stranger to the national stage.

Ustaszewski served as the video coach for Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Prior to the Olympic Games, he helped lead the Americans to a silver medal in the 2021 FINA World League Super Final in Tbilisi, Georgia. He was the video coordinator at both the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea and the 2019 China Wenjiang International Water Polo Tournament in Chengdu, China. In addition, Ustaszewski closed out 2019 as the video coordinator for Team USA in a series of exhibition games against Serbia.

Opening Ceremonies in Paris were Friday, July 26, 2024. Men's water polo has been part of the Summer Olympics program since 1900. Team USA has won a total of nine medals.
