Fuentes Leads Fullerton Past Sierra
SARATOGA, CA — Allyson Fuentes pitched lights out and the South No. 1 seed Fullerton College Hornets defeated the North No. 4 seed Sierra College Wolverines 2-0.
The Hornets advance to face North No. 2 seed San Mateo Bulldogs tomorrow at 11 a.m. at West Valley College. The Wolverines will play South No. 3 seed Palomar in an elimination game tomorrow at 11 a.m. at San Jose City College.
Fuentes allowed just three hits in the win and struck out four to improve to 20-2 in six innings of work. She set the tone early, striking out the side to open the game, and didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning. Macy Brandl stepped into the circle for the final inning to earn the save.

The Hornets benefited from an error by the Wolverines' third baseman with two outs in the third to score the first run of the game. Haley Garcia stepped up next and singled up the middle to score Jordan Elias and extend the lead 2-0 and that was all the offense Fullerton needed.

Kendal Manley did all she could in her start. She allowed two hits with two strikeouts and no earned runs but picked up the loss.
Whitney Montoya led Sierra with two hits.
Fullerton improves to 41-5 overall and the Wolverines fall to 20-25.
