Riverside City claims Orange Empire Conference men's cross country title

MISSION VIEJO - The Riverside City College men’s cross country team captured the 2025 Orange Empire Conference Championship on Friday at Saddleback College. The Tigers had seven finishers in the top 10 in dominating the event.

Riverside is no stranger to winning OEC titles in men’s cross country. The Tigers had won the last four conference titles heading into the meet on Friday and came with a busload of athletes ready to win a fifth.

Riverside did not disappoint, finishing with a perfect team score of 15 points in capturing the crown.

Riverside had five of the top six times on the 4-mile trek at Saddleback College and had the top five times in the team event. Fullerton had a runner finish in third place in individual competition but didn’t have enough harriers on Friday to qualify for a team score.

Alex Wesolowski beat teammate Joshua West in a sprint to the finish line to win the event. His time of 20:33.7 was just 0.6 seconds ahead of West in earning the Orange Empire Conference Runner-of-the-Year. The Tigers also followed with Luis Mier (20:46.4), Dyeem Tolbert (20:58.7) and Anthony Silva (21:04.1).

Orange Coast finished in second place with a team score of 49 points. The Pirates had two runners in the top ten in individual competition in Bernie Enriquez (7^th) and Williams Dang (9^th).

Saddleback finished in third place with a score of 76 points.
