Nineteen teams switched positions with Moorpark leading that charge by climbing to #7 on this week's CCCWVCA State Top 25 Rankings.  

Long Beach went up a spot to #4, American River tumbled back one to #5 while both LA Mission at #8 and Cerritos at #10 entered the elite top 10.

The North conference races show leaders in #19 Solano in the Bay Valley (7-0), #3 Sierra in the Big (12-1), #2 Fresno City in the Central Valley (12-0), unranked Monterey Peninsula and Hartnell tied in the Coast North (7-1), #18 San Mateo and West Valley tied in the Coast South (7-1), and #9 Feather River running away in the Golden Valley (7-0).

In the South, #23 San Bernardino Valley leads in the Inland Empire Athletic (10-1), #11 Orange Coast and Saddleback tied in the Orange Empire (10-1), #6 San Diego Mesa clinching the Pacific Coast Athletic title (13-0), #14 Mt. San Antonio in the South Coast North (4-0), Cerritos in the South Coast South (5-0), Moorpark in the Western State North (9-1), and #17 Santa Monica and #21 Canyons tied in the Western State South (8-1).

This week, we serve up the top ace specialists for each Top 25 team. 

  1. SAN JOAQUIN DELTA, Big 8, 22-3: The Mustangs lost to Sierra in four, then swept Modesto. Injuries or not, Delta has the state's top RPI. Emily Vickers tops the team with 56 aces. NorCal #1; Last Week's State Rank: #1
  2. FRESNO CITY, Central Valley, 22-4: The Rams' CVC win streak continues at 188, the current overall win streak now at 15, and sets string won of 22 after sweeping Columbia. FCC can win the conference title outright by beating Taft on Wednesday. Savanna FauntLeroy is tied for ninth in the state in overall aces with 60. NorCal #2; Last Week's State Rank: #2
  3. SIERRA, Big 8, Big 8, 23-4: With their win over Delta, the Wolverines have all but earned at least a tie for the Big 8 title. Their sweep over Folsom Lake was their ninth win in a row. Jordyn Deter is third in the state with 72 aces. NorCal: #3; Last Week's State Rank: #3
  4. LONG BEACH CITY, South Coast South, 18-1: The Vikings swept East Los Angeles and LA Harbor. Enaya Vaielua has 29 aces. LBCC shoots up a slot behind its SoCal #1 RPI. SoCal #1; Last Week's State Rank: #5
  5. AMERICAN RIVER, Big 8, 21-4: The Beavers were stretched to five sets v. unranked Cosumnes River, winning the fifth game 15-6, for their sixth consecutive victory. Sophia MacPherson has 49 aces. ARC slips a position. NorCal #4; Last Week's State Rank: #4
  6. SAN DIEGO MESA, Pacific Coast Athletic, 18-1: The Olympians extended their win streak to 12 with sweeps over San Diego City and MiraCosta. Halen Kiefer has 42 aces. SoCal: #2; Last Week's State Rank: #6
  7. MOORPARK, Western State North, 16-4: The Raiders score 4-set wins over Ventura and Santa Barbara City and have won six straight. Grace Hazelton was a State Player of the Week and leads the team with 57 aces. Moorpark climbs two slots.SoCal #3; Last Week's State Rank: #9
  8. LA MISSION, Western State North, 23-2: The Eagles defeated Allan Hancock in four, then swept Ventura as it eyes a rematch v. Moorpark on Nov. 13 where a win could allow them to share the WSC North title. Rio Sandaiji is fourth in the state with 67 aces. Mission picks up two spots. SoCal #4; Last Week's State Rank: #10
  9. FEATHER RIVER, Golden Valley, 23-7: The Golden Eagles upped their GVC win streak to 70 in sweeping Shasta after also putting the broom on Solano. Maya Cann is the state leader in aces with 75. The South push drops FRC a position. NorCal #5; Last Week's State Rank: #8
  10. CERRITOS, South Coast South, 16-2: The Falcons swept Pasadena City and El Camino to up their win streak to 12. Monserrat Rodriguez has 35 aces. Cerritos hikes a step into the top 10. SoCal #5; Last Week's State Rank: #11
  11. ORANGE COAST, Orange Empire, 18-2: The Pirates avenged their only OEC loss to Riverside City by winning in four. They have an 8-match win streak but saw a 22 straight set mark ended during that victory. Jordan Packer has 50 aces. OCC leaps two spaces. SoCal #6; Last Week's State Rank: #13
  12. GROSSMONT, Pacific Coast Athletic, 16-8: The Griffins were shockingly swept by Palomar and dropped into a tie for third in the PCAC. Norma Ramirez has 42 aces. Grossmont falls five spots. SoCal #7; Last Week's State Rank: #7
  13. SANTA BARBARA CITY, Western State North, 16-5: The Vaqueros swept Cuesta, then lost to Moorpark in four and drop to third in the difficult WSC North. Valeria Bellodas has 46 aces. SBCC trips down a ladder rung. SoCal #8; Last Week's State Rank: #12
  14. MT. SAN ANTONIO, South Coast North, 16-6: The Mounties swept Rio Hondo for their sixth win in a row. This Wednesday, they can win the SCC North outright by defeating Pasadena. Eva Becerra has 34 aces. SoCal: #9; Last Week's State Rank: #14
  15. PALOMAR, Pacific Coast, 16-4: The Comets are en fuego with their sweep over Grossmont following a sweep past Imperial Valley. They have won eight straight. Janell Spires has 31 aces. Palomar jets up into first class nine slots. SoCal #10; Last Week's State Rank: #24
  16. TAFT, Central Valley, 24-3: The Cougars push their win streak to seven behind sweeps over Lemoore and Columbia. Grace Witcher was a State Player of the Week and tops team with 53 aces. Taft slides a rank. NorCal #6; Last Week's State Rank: #15
  17. SANTA MONICA, Western State South, 15-7: The Corsairs have a 3-0 week in defeating Antelope Valley in four, then sweeping both Bakersfield and Citrus. The WSC South title comes down to the showdown with Canyons on Nov. 6. Annah Legaspi was a State Player of the Week and leads team with 56 aces. SMC falls a spot. SoCal #11; Last Week's State Rank: #16
  18. CANYONS, Western State South, 13-8: The Cougars come up with huge 5-set win over Bakersfield (lost in five v. the Renegades in the first round of conference) after sweeping Glendale for their sixth consecutive triumph. The WSC South title is up for grabs v. Santa Monica on Wednesday. Ana Vasquez has 35 aces. COC rockclimbs four pegs. SoCal #12: Last Week's State Rank: #22
  19. SAN MATEO, Coast South, 17-6: The Bulldogs swept Ohlone and San Jose City to up their win streak to six. CSM can win the Coast South title if it can beat West Valley for a second time in conference play this Friday. Sina Leah'uli has 38 aces.   20. PASADENA CITY, South Coast North, 13-12: The Lancers were swept by Cerritos, then swept East LA. The story of the PCC season is a remarkable 8-20 record in sets decided by two points. Kamea Vongfak has 44 aces. PCC shuttles up a space. SoCal #13; Last Week's State Rank: #21
  21. BAKERSFIELD, Western State South, 12-7: The Renegades 5-match win streak is shattered in a tough week, swept by Santa Monica, then losing to Canyons in five (15-7, fifth). Kamryn Briggs has 30 aces. Bakersfield falls two slots. SoCal #14; Last Week's State Rank: #20
  22. SOLANO, Bay Valley, 21-5: The Falcons BVC streak stretches to 66 matches with a sweep Contra Costa, but a 20-set, 8-match win streak was snapped earlier in the week in a 3-set loss to Feather River. Alissa Projillo is tied for ninth in the state with 60 aces. Solano slides three spots. NorCal #8; Last Week's State Rank: #19
  23. SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY, Inland Empire Athletic, 14-7: The Wolverines swept Cerro Coso and Victor Valley and will likely share the IEAC title with Mt. San Jacinto. Annika Ferreras has 46 aces. SBVC moves up two positions thanks in part to an earlier win over Ventura. SoCal #15; Last Week's State Rank: #T25
  24. VENTURA, Western State North, 11-9: The Pirates run into the buzzsaw with a 4-set loss to Moorpark, then getting swept by LA Mission. Makena Schaumloeffel has 47 aces. Ventura stumbles seven ranks. Last Week's State Rank: #17
  25. MIRACOSTA, Pacific Coast Athletic, 11-9: The Spartans swept Cuyamaca, then were swept by San Diego Mesa. It's wins over Palomar and Grossmont (and 5-set loss to Griffins) keep them in the rankings. Megan Jo Martin has 29 aces. Last Week's State Rank: #T25

     Mt. San Jacinto, Inland Empire Athletic, 15-9: The Eagles swept Copper Mountain and Cerro Coso. 
    Saddleback, Orange Empire, 14-4: The Bobcats swept Fullerton and Santa Ana and are still in the hunt in the OEC race.
    Shasta, Golden Valley, 22-8: The Knights were swept for the second time in 16 days by Feather River. NorCal #9; Last Week's State Rank: #T25
    Ohlone, Coast South, 20-5: The Renegades were swept by San Mateo, then swept Gavilan. NorCal #10    
    Riverside City, Orange Empire, 15-7: The Tigers lost to Orange Coast in four, then beat Santiago Canyon in four.
    Merced, Central Valley, 17-5: The Blue Devils swept Porterville, then for the second time in CVC play v, Sequoias go the full five to win (15-9, fifth). NorCal #11
    Coalinga, Central Valley, 18-6: The Falcons swept Reedley. NorCal #12
     Hartnell, Coast North, 14-12: The Panthers are red-hot sweeping San Francisco and De Anza and on a 7-match win streak. NorCal #13
    Cosumnes River, Big 8, 14-10: The Hawks made serious noise by extending American River to five sets in a loss, then beat Diablo Valley in four. NorCal #14
    Sacramento City, Big 8, 15-13: The Panthers swept Modesto and got by Santa Rosa in four to win four in a row. NorCal #T15
    West Valley, Coast South, 12-12: The Vikings swept Gavilan and Skyline. NorCal #T15
     Monterey Peninsula, Coast North, 14-4: The Lobos swept Cabrillo and Las Positas. NorCal #T15
     Sequoias, Central Valley, 14-12: The Giants swept Reedley, then lost to Merced in five. 
    Cuesta, Western State North, 11-13: The Cougars were swept by Santa Barbara. 
     Santa Rosa, Big 8, 13-13: The Bear Cubs swept Folsom Lake, then lost to Sacramento in four. 
    Las Positas, Coast North, 11-7: The Hawks defeated De Anza in five, then were swept by Monterey. 
    Cypress, Orange Empire, 11-11: The Chargers swept Santiago Canyon, then were swept by Irvine Valley.  
    Allan Hancock, Western State North, 11-7: The Bulldogs lost to LA Mission in four, then snapped a 5-match losing streak with a sweep over Pierce. 
    Desert, Inland Empire Athletic, 12-10: The Roadrunners swept Victor Valley and Chaffey. 
    Modesto, Big 8, 12-14: The Pirates were swept by Delta and Sacramento.
    Southwestern, Pacific Coast Athletic, 12-10: The Panthers won 4-set affairs v. SD Miramar and SD City. 
    Los Medanos, Bay Valley, 12-13: The Mustangs swept Yuba and Napa Valley.
