Sierra star Stolz, two WSC North talents are CCCWVCA State Players of the Week #10
Perhaps the state's top right side hitter in Sierra College's Taylor Stolz and two Western State North talents--LA Mission setter Taylor Boone and Santa Barbara City outside hitter Tana Long--are this week's CCCWVCA State Players of the Week #10.
Stolz, an All-NorCal Region selection in 2023, is a 6-foot sophomore from Roseville High who is fourth in the state in overall kills (380), 10th in kills per set at 4.37 and is hitting an efficient .318 this season. She is second in overall points scored at 442.
Stolz slammed 24 kills, had six blocks, five aces and 10 digs while hitting .478 combined in two Sierra sweeps over Santa Rosa and Cosumnes River this past week. She knocked down 15 kills v. CRC.
Boone, a 5-7 sophomore product of Quartz Hill High and from Palmdale, is second in the state in set assists at a 10.07 average. She dished out 48 assists and made 15 digs (plus three blocks) in a 5-set LAM win over Santa Barbara. That followed Boone totaling 34 assists, three blocks and two kills in the Eagles sweep over Cuesta.
Long, a 5-10 freshman who played at Arroyo Grande High and is from San Luis Obispo, totaled 26 kills and 24 digs combined in the loss to Mission and a 4-set, Santa Barbara win over Allan Hancock. Long recorded a double-double v. Mission with 13 kills and 16 digs while hitting .393.
