Eight teams converge on Soboba Country Club to determine CCCAA Men's Golf State Champion
SAN JACINTO - Eight teams will compete for the 2022 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Men's Golf State Championship on Monday, May 16 at the Soboba Country Club in San Jacinto and hosted by Riverside City College.
The one-day, 36-hole melee will feature the South’s College of the Canyons, Cypress, Saddleback and Ventura, while the North will send Folsom Lake, Monterey Peninsula, Reedley and Sierra.
These teams are not new to the state championships scene as the past five winners have come from this grip of competitors. College of the Canyons is the most recent winner as they carded a field low 734 in 2019 at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, CA. Cypress was the winner in 2018 with a field-low 736, while Canyons won in 2015 and in 2017. Reedley snapped a potential Canyons three peat by earning the title in 2016 and brought the championship trophy back to the North for the first time since 2011.
