SAN MATEO – Dru Brown accounted for five touchdowns as state No. 3 ranked College of San Mateo defeated visiting No. 11 Modesto JC, 51-41, Saturday afternoon. Brown, a 6-0, 195-pound freshman quarterback out of Los Gatos High School, compete six of eight passes for 105 yards and three TDs and ran 15 times for 26 yards and two more scores – including the go-ahead points on an 11-yard run with 18 seconds left in the first half, for a 28-26 lead at the break.

SAN MATEO – Dru Brown accounted for five touchdowns as state No. 3 ranked College of San Mateo defeated visiting No. 11 Modesto JC, 51-41, Saturday afternoon. Brown, a 6-0, 195-pound freshman quarterback out of Los Gatos High School, compete six of eight passes for 105 yards and three TDs and ran 15 times for 26 yards and two more scores – including the go-ahead points on an 11-yard run with 18 seconds left in the first half, for a 28-26 lead at the break.
Ramiah Marshall led CSM rushers with 73 yards on 11 carries, including a five-yard score. He also caught an 18-yard TC pass from Brown early in the third quarter to extend the Bulldogs' lead to 35-26. Chikwado Nzerem, out of South San Francisco High, was San Mateo's leading pass receiver with 63 yards on three catches, including a 15-yard TD from Brown that provided a 49-33 advantage late in the third quarter.
CSM (2-0) will host Butte (0-2) next Saturday at 1 p.m. No. 24 Butte fell to Santa Rosa, 23-20, on Saturday. Modesto (1-1) will entertain No. 7 Diablo Valley (2-0) Saturday at 6 p.m.
