Santa Monica Wins Opening Playoff Match 5-1

On a beautiful day at the beach, Santa Monica (12-5) and the #4 seed in the Southern California Regional team playoffs advanced to the Semi-Finals with a 5-1 win over San Diego City.

Isabella Bennett and Angelina Andrejic put the Corsairs ahead 2-0 with an 8-2 win at #3 doubles.  Bennett then proceeded to clinch the win for Santa Monica as she scored the game-winning 5th point with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #5 singles.

Other standouts for the day were Anaya Ayanbadejo and Yesugen Ganbaatar who won 8-2 at the #1 doubles position.  Both Ayanbadejo (#1 Singles) and Ganbaatar (#2 Singles)  went on to win their singles matches with respective scores of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-4.
