Mt. San Antonio, Fresno City capture regional dual titles, setting up state championship match in November
NORWALK - At the 2023 California Community College Athletic Association SoCal Regional Duals held on Saturday, October 14, at Cerritos College, Mt. San Antonio College finished in first place, defeating East Los Angeles College 50-3, Palomar College 45-9, and Cerritos College 36-7. As a team, the Mounties have finished first in each of the meets they've competed in this season.
Losing to Mt. SAC in the championship dual, Cerritos came in second place, while Santa Ana took third.
The Mounties' win sets up the 3C2A Wrestling Dual Championship match in November at Fresno City College. Fresno edged Sacramento City, 20-18, to capture the NorCal Regional title at Modesto Junior College on Saturday. The host Pirates took third.
Next month's title tilt will be a rematch of the 2021 state dual championship at Fresno City, which Mt. SAC captured 32-12.
The Mounties will head to Norwalk again on Wednesday, October 18, for a Southern California Wrestling Alliance Southwest Division dual meet against Cerritos, which begins at 7 p.m.
