Palomar rolls to 50-point win, goes 14-2, 3-0
The Palomar women's basketball team jumped out to a 42-12 lead with 7 1/2 minutes to play in the first half and continued on to an 88-38 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference victory over Imperial Valley on Wednesday night at The Dome.
The Comets put all 12 players they had in uniform in the scoring column as coach Leigh Marshall shuffled them in and out of the game.
Jessica Scott (15 points) and Ashleigh Barnes (12 points) scored in double figures as Palomar advanced to 14-2 on the season and 3-0 in the PCAC. Keisha Cox, Lee Lee Tomlinson and Promyse Reed each had 9 points.
Ana Rodriguez scored 11 points for Imperial Valley (1-12, 0-3).
The Comets jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the game's first 2 minutes and 32 seconds and never looked back. They led 54-21 at the half.
Palomar is tied for first place with Grossmont, a 75-62 winner over Southwestern on Wednesday night.
