San Joaquin Delta plated all of its runs in the third inning. With two outs, Tara Fornaciari doubled down the left field line to get into scoring position. The next two Mustangs were hit by pitches to load the bases. The Chargers had a chance to get out of the inning but a fielding error allowed Fornaciari to score and kept the inning alive.
Caitlynn Campbell stepped up next and made the Chargers pay for their mistake. She doubled down the left field line to score Hailey Kobler and Arianna Coelho. The sequence proved to be the difference in the game.
