CCCMVCA rankings see no changes as postseason looms on horizon
IRVINE - Heading into the final week of the regular season, there were no changes in the latest California Community College Men’s Volleyball Coaches Association Poll from the Apr. 2 addition to this week.
But plenty is on the line this coming week.
Undefeated Orange Coast, ranked No. 1 once again, has clinched at least a share of the Orange Empire Conference title. But the Pirates play No. 2 Golden West at home on Wednesday night and then at No. 4 Irvine Valley on Friday.
The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference and Western State Conference titles are also up for grabs.
No. 2 San Diego Mesa leads the PCAC by a half-match over Miramar. Mesa has a record of 18-4 overall and 6-1 in conference, while Miramar is 11-6 overall and 6-2 in conference action.
And Mesa takes on Miramar Wednesday on the road with title and seeding implications on the line.
In the Western State Conference, No. 5 Long Beach City is at the top with a mark of 10-1, with one match left to play. The Vikings play host to LA Pierce on Wednesday.
No. 6 Santa Monica sits at 8-2 in conference and in second place. The Corsairs host Antelope Valley on Wednesday and then play at El Camino on Friday.
Playoff pairings will be announced this weekend.
