El Camino College takes over No. 1 seat in CCCSIA Men's Soccer Poll
Previous polls: Sept. 9 l Sept. 14 l Sept. 21 l Sept. 27
RIVERSIDE - After receiving three first-place votes, El Camino College currently holds a slight edge over last week’s top team, Hartnell, in this week’s California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) men’s soccer poll.
No. 1 El Camino makes the jump for the first time this year after settling in the top three for the entire year thus far. The undefeated juggernaut of the South has cruised through the competition this season and has only conceded six goals – three coming in their first game. Additionally, they have scored two or more games in eight games.
No. 2 Hartnell was dethroned but stills acts as the top squad in the North with an overall record of 9-1 and currently rides a two-game winning streak. No. 4 Taft fell from the top two spots despite not suffering a loss yet on the year. They currently own three ties.
No. 6 Golden West shoots up three spots after a ninth-place ranking the previous week, while No. 5 Fresno City jumps five positions to round out the top five.
No. 14 Rio Hondo took the most significant fall as they dropped seven positions following last week’s loss to Irvine Valley and tie with Chaffey.
No. 12 Antelope Valley jumped four spots, while No. 8 De Anza skyrocketed nine positions to highlight the largest shift.
Santa Barbara and Butte rejoin the top-20 after falling off last week. Butte did not receive any votes the previous week, while Santa Barbara received 15 points. They are both tied for No. 18 overall.
