Two South Coast Conference foes hold top ranking in first CCCSIA poll of 2019
RIVERSIDE - Cerritos and Mt. San Antonio College are gridlocked at the top in the first California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) men's soccer poll. Both are undefeated with Mt. SAC holding a half game edge with a flawless 5-0 record, while Cerritos comes in with a 4-0-1 record. No. 3 Oxnard (3-0) rounds out the top three.
Mt. SAC holds the most wins in the state with a goals scored versus goals against ratio coming in at a strong 16-3. Their largest victory came against American River last Monday by the final score of 7-1. Cerritos has had a more challenging road by facing off against No. 5 Fresno City and finishing at a scoreless draw. They have only allowed one goal all season and they off against No. 3 Oxnard later today.
No. 3 Oxnard has earned a trio of wins in as many games with two wins coming against ranked opponents in No. T8 Taft, 2-0, and No. 16 Santa Ana, 3-1.
The Central Valley Conference (CVC) has a strong representation with three member institutions landing in the top-10 – No. 5 Fresno City, No. 6 Clovis and No. T8 Taft. No. T8 Cypress joins Taft at the same spot with a flawless 3-0 record, while No. 7 El Camino edges out the pair with a record of 3-0-1.
Two members of the newly formed Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) join the top-10 featuring No. 13 Norco (3-0) and No. 19 San Bernardino Valley (3-1).
