Cypress College baseball alum Hayden Schott shines in Men's College World Series for Texas A&M
CYPRESS - Cypress College Baseball is proud to celebrate the incredible journey of alumnus Hayden Schott, who has helped lead Texas A&M to the prestigious College World Series Final in his first season as an Aggie.
Hayden Schott played at Cypress College during the COVID-shortened 2020 season before transferring to play at Columbia University, where he made a significant impact. He was a two-time All-Ivy League selection, showcasing his skills and earning recognition as one of the top players in the conference. After earning his bachelor's degree in psychology from Columbia, Schott opted to play his final season as a graduate transfer at Texas A&M. During the Aggies' run to the 2024 College World Series, Schott has started all 67 games while leading the team with a .329 AVG and 85 hits.
Chargers Baseball Head Coach Anthony Hutting expressed his admiration for Schott, stating, "Hayden is the type of student-athlete that every coach wants on their team. He is a talented baseball player, but an even better person and teammate. He makes everyone around him better."
Coach Hutting continued, "Hayden's journey in college baseball is amazing and truly shows what can happen with the right work ethic and character. He has gone from redshirting at Cypress in 2019 to being a two-time All-Ivy League selection and graduating from Columbia University. Now he is playing for a national title with Texas A&M in the College World Series on the biggest stage in college baseball. It has been an incredible journey and fun to watch, to say the least. Everyone in our program is proud of Hayden and the success he has earned on and off the field."
Schott's achievements serve as an inspiration to current and future student-athletes at Cypress College, demonstrating the possibilities that come with perseverance, hard work, and a positive attitude. As he competes for a national title, the entire Cypress Athletics community is cheering him on, proud of the remarkable journey he has undertaken.
